The Loading Dock Gallery is a Cooperative Gallery representing more than 50 members of the Western Avenue Studios Artist Association. The coop was formed in December of 2007 and took possession of the gallery space on the 2nd floor of the A-Mill of the Western Avenue Complex. The 1,450 sq. foot gallery space is divided into two sections, the Main Gallery which carries original artwork, jewelry, and reproductions of work by Gallery Members and the intimate Showcase which features month long one and two person exhibits focusing on the work of members.
The Gallery was made possible by generous support from Karl Frey and Mollie Masten of Vespera and by a grant from the Lowell Cultural Council.
We also want to thank Gilbride Electric for the electrical work, FI Office for furniture donations and PERMA Incorporated of Bedford MA who made refinishing of the floors possible.
From the Lowell Connector, take the Thorndike St. exit. After the third set of lights take the ramp on the right. At the second set of lights at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Middlesex St. Middlesex Street bears to the right just after the Boys and Girls Club, follow to first set of lights which is School Street. Turn right on School, at the crest of the hill turn right onto Western Avenue. Western Avenue Studios is the five story red brick building on the right and the 3 story building on the left (the buildings form an "L") at the end of Western Ave.
