Fiber Artist & Instructor Stoneham, MA
I have always believed that each person should have a leisure pursuit to release tension and give imagination room to flourish. I grew up when needlework was a common practice among women and as a result learned, at an early age, to work with fiber in many facets of needlework - from crochet to home decorating to clothing. It was, however, quilting that presented a true challenge to my creativity, artistic ability, imagination and sewing skills. I began exploring the traditional patterns and after a few years found my way outside the box. Many quilting avenues over the past thirty years have been explored using both hand and machine techniques.
Creating fiber art pieces using a variety of fabrics, threads and beads has become a passion. Each new piece is viewed as a challenge involving color, texture, design and technique.
Currently I share my love of fiber with studio members at Lowell Fiber Studios....Studio 512
