After a 36 year long successful and very rewarding career teaching Industrial Arts I embarked on a new journey with my love of woodworking . Having worked with wood since I was a teenager and taught woodworking as well as many other subjects to high school and middle school children and adults it was an easy transition . In my work I enjoy working with mostly native North American hardwoods such as Cherry , Maple , Oak and Black Walnut. I do some building in Mahogany and a few smaller projects in some exotics as well. Find great pleasure in working with and utilizing the woods own natural colors, grain patterns and textures as much as possible . Much of my work may be in Shaker , Mission , Arts and Crafts , and Period styles of furniture .I do tend to stick to many older , tried and true methods of joinery and construction in the making of my pieces to give them an authentic look and quality not found in much of our furniture these days. I treat each piece as not only an article for your enjoyment in the present but with the hopes that they will become treasured family heirlooms as well. I know that most of my work will be around long after I am not and very proud to leave a legacy behind for my family any others who have purchased my work to enjoy for many years to come .
