In 1998, I left a secure, twenty-five year nursing career to pursue my love of art. On the way to learning how to paint, I learned how to create a joyful life.

Now, my dream is to share this joy with you.

Through my painting, writing and spoken word, I celebrate the passion, power and purpose that comes from being true to one’s self.

My artwork is derived mostly from playing. Dancing to music with evocative rhythms while I paint enables me to transfer powerful emotion onto the canvas (or paper that I collage onto canvas). Working abstractly on large surfaces with quick-drying acrylics allows me the freedom of playful brushstrokes and bold splashes. Later, I form a more three-dimensional look by adding fine lines and/or collage elements. This creates a compelling blend of explosive energy and meditative detail.

Intentionally or not, every piece of artwork communicates something to the viewer. Both in the creating of my work and in your viewing it, there will be many different thoughts and interpretations. However, my underlying message is always the same.
