As a retired woodworker, I have spent much of my life working with my hands to create beautiful and functional objects. Now, as an artist, I continue to explore the beauty and versatility of wood through my cups, bowls, and various types of boxes.
My pieces often incorporate a range of different woods, each with its own unique color, grain, and texture. Through careful selection and placement, I seek to create works that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
I am particularly drawn to the natural forms and patterns that emerge from the wood itself. I see each piece of wood as a canvas, with its own story to tell, and I strive to bring out its inherent beauty through careful shaping, sanding, and finishing. I approach each piece with a sense of wonder and curiosity. I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with wood.
For me, creating art is a way of connecting with the natural world and expressing my own innermost thoughts and emotions. I hope to inspire others to see the beauty and potential of the materials around them, and to embrace the limitless possibilities of the creative process.
