The Cultural ARTbeat
Show Dates: June 28 – July 30, 2017
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 1 from 5 PM to 7 PM
Each summer the city of Lowell comes alive with music. Thanks to the Lowell Summer Music Series, the city’s nightlife, and of course the annual Lowell Folk Festival, music takes center stage in this historic mill city. This July the Loading Dock Gallery takes up the harmony with a music-themed exhibit that shows work of emerging and established artists from in and around the city.
Painting, fiber arts, photography, sculpture, and all that jazz will highlight how the visual and musical arts play off of each other. Music lovers and fine art fans will find a variety of work that strikes a cord. Featuring the works of dozens of diverse artists, The Cultural ARTbeat is a not to be missed event that will be enjoyed by both Lowell regulars and visitors who come to enjoy the musical offerings this summer.
The Cultural ARTbeat will be on display from June 28th through July 30th at the Loading Dock Gallery at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, MA. Please join us for a reception for the show on Saturday, July 1, from 5 PM to 7 PM, following Western Avenue Open Studios from Noon to 5. Western Avenue Studios is the largest artist community of its kind on the east coast and has become an unconventional tourist attraction as well as a center for the arts in New England. Open Studios will give visitors the chance to see the work spaces of more than three hundred of Lowell’s artists and artisans as well as a first glimpse and opening night reception for The Cultural ARTbeat.
The Loading Dock Gallery, a part of Loading Dock Arts, Inc., a 501c3, is open Wednesday - Saturday from Noon to 5:30 PM, and Sunday from Noon to 4 PM. It is located at the entrance of Western Avenue Studios, 122 Western Avenue, in Lowell, MA. For more information, call 978-656-1687 or visit www.theloadingdockgallery.com.
