www​As an artist I am continuously responding to the ever changing conditions and facets of my seemingly ordinary life as it unfolds over time. In my work I use soft pastel, acrylic paint, foam plate printing, cut paper and a variety of other drawing media. I am interested in the play of color, abstraction, representation, contrast, and movement within the composition. The stories of my personal experience and history are embedded within the imagery of my pieces. Often they are abstracted to the point that they dissolve into the whole to become an integral part of a cohesive work. Much of my process is intuitive and as a result I find myself frequently having to “let go” of my attachment to what I “thought” should happen and realign my intention to what is meant to be for any piece of work that I create.
